As with any profession, Realtors are always on the lookout for new techniques and ideas through continuing education.
Rachel DeHanas, who is with the Sandlin Team at RE/MAX on Marco Island and Naples, recently achieved her Resort & Second-home Property Specialist (RSPS) designation.
The nationally recognized certification is awarded by the National Association of Realtors to real estate professionals who have completed specialized education and demonstrated their expertise in this realm.
DeHanas attended the recent Naples resort and second home symposium, a resort networking event that attracted attendees from around the world to exchange ideas and network.
DeHanas said the symposium was particularly valuable to her in the role of serving international and high-end luxury buyers.

ENSURING GOOD INSURANCE
No longer associated with Lutgert Insurance, Keith Klipstein is offering “buy side” risk management and insurance consultations.
“With my technical risk management, insurance and market expertise in property and casualty insurance, I will design insurance programs consistent with client needs,” Klipstein says in a release.
“Once complete I will put it out to bid, deal with the insurance salesmen, oversee the placement of the program agreed upon.”
Once the program is in force, Klipstein says he will monitor for any needed changes, advise on appropriate actions to be taken, and have them implemented.

Marco-based interior designer Kira Krümm has added to her string of awards over the past couple of years.
Her firm, Kira Krümm Interior Design, recently picked up two awards at the American Society of Interior Designer’s Design Excellence Awards.
The firm took home one award in the show house category for a master bedroom suite that featured products from Krümm’s own line, the Kira Krümm Kollection.
The second was for best interior renovation in the wild card category, and featured the renovation of a residence in the Claridge high-rise condominium in Naples.

With a tame hurricane season now markedly on the wane, the Florida Association of Insurance Agents nevertheless exhorts home owners not to become complacent.
The reasoning? The next hurricane season is just eight months away.
The association encourages Floridians to familiarize themselves completely with their insurance policies, and that their coverage is adequate.
The association has pre- and post-storm advice that includes knowing what policies cover, the ramifications of flood and wind damage coverage, and updating policies following home improvements, .
Post storm tips include quick notification of damage, effecting emergency repairs and keeping inventories of possessions.
