Youth Leadership Collier on TV show

The Youth Leadership Collier Program, offered by the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, will be featured on “District Digest” Monday, Oct. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 8.

“District Digest,” a TV show on the Education Channel (Comcast Channel 99), keeps the community updated on school district business, by giving an “inside look” at the district. The program is hosted by Joe Landon and Leanne Zinser.

Libby Anderson, a Youth Leadership Collier Committee member, and Dillon Hazel, a graduate of the Youth Leadership Collier Class of 2009, were interviewed for the program. Anderson shares the mission and goals of the Youth Leadership Collier program while Dillon reflects on his experience as a participant.

Air dates for District Digest are as follows: Monday-Saturday at 9:30 p.m.; Sundays at 11:30 a.m.; an additional show on Fridays at 7:30 a.m. The program is also available online at: Click on “Air Date: 10-26-09” under the District Digest icon when it becomes available.

Salon grand opening is Nov. 15

Salon Delphine has announced an open house celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, to mark the grand opening of the salon. 7700 U.S. 41 N., Naples, under new ownership.

The event also will feature a fundraiser to honor the former owner of the salon, Mari Rothman. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Wine and cheese will be served along with other refreshments. Names will be drawn from those in attendance for door prizes, which include gift baskets and complimentary services such as hair color, cut, and style, manicures and pedicures. A gift will be given to each guest upon arrival.

The new owner, Carol Ambrosini, said: “I feel grateful for the opportunity to recognize Mari Rothman, who is battling cancer. Salon Delphine wants to give something back to the community in her honor. Mari is a true inspiration to everyone and is also deserving of much appreciation for her business achievements. Because of Mari, I am very proud to carry on the name of the Salon Delphine and its fine reputation.”
