Letter To The Editor: How it all started

Dear Marco Citizens: I have been studying WWII history this summer. I have a great many video documentaries as well as a few terrific books such as “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.”

As I read the Eagle online today, I was truly stunned to see the following quote come out of a school board meeting: Monte Lazarus, appeared even more upset, raising his voice and pointing his finger at this reporter saying the newspaper shouldn’t “give these people, who are making innuendos about a lack of transparency at the school, a platform to speak.”

I had just been watching a video of the famous book burning in Germany conducted by the Nazi Goebbels. As we all know, the book burning wasn’t as effective as the later shootings.

For those who might read my comment and consider it to be way over the top or simply “mean spirited,” I strongly suggest that you read “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.” This is exactly how it started.

I also note that Dr. Mario Sanchez is seeking a school board position. He would surely understand the significance of my statement. Che Guevara visited his family personally one day and it wasn’t for coffee. Mario has dedicated his life to education and he is a patriot. He makes me proud to know him.

One more poor soul Putnam supported who DIDN'T get elected. If you're ever running for office stay clear of Putnam; his support is the kiss of death.
