Learn how to file a small claim at seminar

Do you have a legal dispute? Filing a small claim is one way to settle it, especially when the damages or value of property involved does not exceed $5,000. Anyone interested in understanding how to go about filing a small claim should attend a free seminar hosted by the Collier Clerk of the Courts, from 1 to 3 p.m., Dec. 1 at Hodges University.

The program will review Florida law and cover related topics including forms and fees. There will also be an overview of basic requirements for filing a small claim and the challenges in resolving a court ordered judgment. There will be ample time for questions from participants, but legal advice will not be provided by the Clerk’s office.

To register for the seminar, call (239)598-6133 or e-mail Robert.StCyr@collierclerk.com.
