MARCO ISLAND — The City of Marco Island Parks and Recreation Department will officially re-open the new Winterberry Field, 11:30 a.m., Saturday.
The re-opening marks the improvements to the field that include a new baseball field, an improved open field for football and surrounding lights, according to a prepare release Wednesday by Marco The agenda for event is as follows:
- Welcome and introductions led by Parks and Recreation Director Bryan Milk
- Remarks from Greg West of the Marco Island Optimist Club regarding football, Bill Shurima regarding senior softball, Andrew Delgado on Cal Ripken baseball and Vice n Chairman Frank Recker on the benefits of the new field.
- The Marco Island Optimist football games will be played at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon. Recker will do a coin toss to start the last game.
