Bonita Shores Club: A good winter season planned for residents, snowbirds

When the foliage of cool New England turns crimson with bright yellow accents, many of our northern friends’ thoughts turn to warm Bonita Shores as a most attractive destination. Yes, the snowbirds are returning and the Shores Club’s activities are picking up.

Welcome back — we have a good winter season planned for all.

A community-wide Thanksgiving dinner is being offered again this year. The club will provide the roasted turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. Guests will be charged a minimal fee of just $5 each plus a covered dish to be shared with others. Last year, over 100 people enjoyed this easy yet most delicious Thanksgiving meal in the friendly clubhouse. Reserve Thanksgiving Day to spend with Bonita neighbors. This event is open to all — more details will follow in the community newsletter.

Weight Watchers continues its Monday morning weigh-in at 9 a.m., followed by the 9:30 meeting. Monday night bingo will start after Thanksgiving.

Tuesday morning yoga goes from 8:45 to 10 a.m. Tuesday evening duplicate bridge, 7 p.m., is enjoyed by all and we welcome new members — but a partner is required. Duplicate bridge is also played Thursday afternoon at 1.

Weight Watchers meet at 5 p.m. on Thursday with a 5:30 meeting. There is line dancing at the clubhouse at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, an afternoon bridge (regular or rubber bridge as some refer to it) will be played at the clubhouse. Everyone is welcome here and you do not need a partner.

The Shores Club has a busy winter agenda this year including a community yard sale.
