Well, it’s Sunday, Nov. 1. Did you remember to turn your clocks back an hour last night? Today is Oktoberfest at the Esplanade, where food, fun and music will be on the menu today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This Greater Marco Family Y fundraiser is always very popular and well-attended. The Stratton Mountain Boys will be performing on the main stage starting at noon, and will play throughout the afternoon. I’ll be your host and emcee for the event. There will be a 50/50 raffle, a children’s play area and fun, fun, fun!
Only $5 gets you in the gate and kids 12 and under are free. Between 6 and 7 p.m. I’ll be playing the greatest dance oldies of all time, so make plans to attend the Oktoberfest this afternoon at the Esplanade, which is located on North Collier Blvd. on Maarco Island, just two miles from the Jolley Bridge.
I want to thank everyone who attended the farewell luncheon for Greater Marco Family YMCA Tennis Director Connie Kormanyos. The luncheon organizers, Carol Hillenbrand, Maureen Arzig and Joe Clark, did a great job in putting this event together. A special thank-you goes out to Mac Chaudhry and the Hilton Marco Island, for their support.
Another thank-you to all the children and adults who attended the Boo-tacular at the Y on Friday, and the cycle benefit and Parent/Junior Tennis Tournament held at the Y yesterday.
