Letters to the editor: Pet O Ween thanks

On behalf of the American Cancer Society I would like to publicly thank the following people for volunteering their time at Pet O Ween, a costume contest for owners and pets to benefit children of cancer.

CJ’s on the Bay – What a gracious host! We thank you for your community spirit, your patience, kindness and the ability to make this event a reality!

Kiwanis Club of Marco Island – Special thanks to this wonderful organization that provided all the volunteer assistance in helping the American Cancer Society in the running of the event. They were your set up and break down crew, judges, doggy snack patrol and registration check in.

Miss Dottie Weiner – You are truly the 50/50 Queen of Marco Island. Nobody says “no” to Miss Dottie.

Ms. Bea Ferretti – Administrative Assistant with the American Cancer Society for registration check in and office support.

Ms. Judy Svetaka; Cattle Baron Chairperson and Ms. Cheryl Axelson ACS Board member and Relay for Life Chairperson – For your unending support and participation at the event.

Pet Vendors which included Lisa Howard of Critter Cafe for the free doggie goodies and raffle prizes, Ms. Nadine at Marco Pet Salon for the free grooming and raffle prize, Animal Trainer Marianne Hepp of Naples Canine for the pet training session and raffle prize, Nancy Dowdall of Nancy Dowdall Photography Studio for the free pet photos (to be picked up at Critter Cafe), and Diane Schutte, Animal Psychometrist for the free physic animal readings.

Special thanks to all the participants who dressed their pets to make Pet-O-Ween truly a fun event for pet owners. Congratulations to all ribbon winners and thank you to our four legged friends who put up with us crazy dog owners!
