Dear Marco Island City Council members: I am writing to request you not approve amplified music at the Esplanade.
The 2004 amended agreement should be enforced as written. A. Special Events approved in this agreement. B. Per Webster’s Dictionary, Special Event — something special. C. Giving one business owner permits for music every Thursday evening does not meet the criteria of a special event. D. We suggest that special events were meant to accommodate events such as Taste of Marco or Fishing Tournaments.
If council doesn’t enforce the Esplanade agreement, how do you expect to enforce all the other agreements it has with other developments?
In closing, as elected council members, please represent Smokehouse Bay residents against outdoor music.
