— How former area high school players did in Week 1:

Spencer Adkins (Naples), linebacker, Atlanta Falcons, No. 59 -- Adkins was inactive Sunday.

Philip Buchanon (Lehigh), cornerback, Detroit Lions, No. 31 -- Buchanon was inactive for Sunday's 45-27 loss to New Orleans. He has been dealing with a sore neck.

Earnest Graham (Cape Coral-Mariner), running back, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, No. 34 -- Graham had one carry for one yard in Sunday's 34-21 loss to Dallas.

Mario Henderson (Lehigh), offensive tackle, Oakland Raiders, No. 75 -- Henderson and the Raiders open against San Diego on Monday night.

Anthony Henry (Estero), cornerback, Detroit Lions, No. 32 -- Henry had a team-high 11 tackles and returned an interception 26 yards in Sunday's 45-27 loss to New Orleans.

Anthony Herrera (Barron Collier), offensive guard, Minnesota Vikings, No. 64 -- Herrera started at right guard and helped Adrian Peterson run for 180 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikings' 34-20 win over Cleveland.

Edgerrin James (Immokalee), running back, Seattle Seahawks, No. 32 -- James, the NFL's active leading rusher, had 11 carries for 30 yards in Sunday's 28-0 win over St. Louis.

Jevon Kearse (North Fort Myers), defensive end, Tennessee Titans, No. 90 -- Kearse had two tackles, a 6-yard sack, and a quarterback hurry in Thursday's 13-10 overtime loss to Pittsburgh.

Jake O'Connell (Gulf Coast), tight end, Kansas City Chiefs, No. 45 -- O'Connell was inactive for Sunday's game against Baltimore.

Steve Octavien (Lely), linebacker, Dallas Cowboys, No. 53 -- Octavien played, but didn't register any stats in Sunday's 34-21 win over Tampa Bay.

Matt Prater (Estero), placekicker, Denver Broncos, No. 5 -- Prater made field goals from 48 and 50 yards in Sunday's 12-7 win over Cincinnati.
