Don’t miss the last two weeks of the Art League, Marco Island’s Center for the Arts latest exhibit Color Vibrations, a juried multi-media fine art exhibit. The exhibit afforded artists a chance to explore the use of color; to be bold and daring; to let the color be the expression or tell the story rather than the subject matter. Forty-one works are on exhibit.

Juried and judged by Megan Kissinger, the top artists were selected for their mediums which include paintings, oils, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, collage and mixed media; sculpture, including clay and wood, and photography.

“There was a wide variety of 2-D and 3-D art and it was difficult to choose just six deserving artists. Of the ones that I did choose, I gave first place to Betty Newman’s Play a Little Music. I thought this piece most aptly fit the theme of the show. It was boldly accomplished with great color and good composition. It also told the best story through the festive, abundant color,” explained Kissinger.
