Raising awareness for Lou Gehrig's disease

Hear from ALS patient, learn more about ...

An effort to drive awareness to ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is underway at Coconut Point Mall in Estero this weekend. More than 100 mannequins make up the "Piece by Piece" tribute exhibit that recognizes Floridians who are living with ALS or have died from the disease.

"It's very touching, I think it's very impressive, said Joyce Hughes, a Fort Myers resident volunteering to help with the display. "This doesn't even cover how many people who have had ALS in the state."

Learn more about this exhibit and hear from an ALS patient in a Studio 55 video report available in the player on the left.
