Former Congressman Newt Gingrich will visit Naples next month to promote his new book that focuses on America's first president.
Newt Gingrich plans to visit the Barnes and Noble at U.S. 41 and Pine Ridge Road at noon Friday, Oct. 23. The book is titled "To Try Men's Souls."
It's the first of two such books Gingrich will write, along with co-author William R. Forstchen, on the role Gen. George Washington played in the Revolutionary War, before Washington became president.
The two other main characters in the book are Thomas Paine and Jonathan Van Dorn, a private in Washington's army.
Gingrich and Forstchen previously teamed up for New York Times bestselling books on Pearl Harbor and Gettysburg.
A former congressman for 20 years, Gingrich often appears on television news programs. He's a member of the Defense Policy Board and co-chair of the UN Task Force, is the longest-serving teacher of the Joint War Fighting course for Major Generals, and served in Congress for 20 years.
Forstchen, Ph.D., is a Faculty Fellow at Montreat College and is the author of more than 40 books.
