Cocomo’s win strengthens hold on 2nd place

Sand Bar safely in first in City softball

In City Men’s Softball League action, Cocomo’s Grille downed Sunset Grille to give it more breathing space for second place.

Sand Bar/Integrity Insurance continues its winning ways to stay 2 1/2 games up in first place.

Here are the results in order of games played.

Nacho Mama’s downs Eli Contracting, 18-15

Nacho’s Justin Ramierez, Greg Curry and Kevin Sullivan smacked out three hits each, while Jordan Weatherbee added two hits.

Eli’s Juan Martinez, Alex Parker, Christian Polanco, John Wright and Jon Sally had two hits each.

Cocomo’s Grill sizzles Sunset Grille, 20-4

Cocomo’s Scott Gibbs continued with the hot bat, knocking out four hits, while Rich Busch, Brian Day, Mike Watkins and Neal Alberry chipped in with three hits each and Kevin Hennings two.

Sunset’s Donnie Montroy, Pat Baldwin and Chad Clawson contributed two hits each.

Sand Bar/Integrity Insurance downs DaVinci’s, 14-5

Sand Bar’s Jason Berning and Pat McGuire had two hits each, with McGuire slamming a home run.

DaVinci’s Mike Radlovacki and Bobby Natale Jr. slapped out two hits each.

The standings show Sand Bar/Integrity at 14-1, Cocomo’s, 11-3, Sunset Grille, 8-7, Joey’s Pizza, 7-7, Nacho Mama’s, 6-9, DaVinci’s, 3-11 and Eli Contracting, 2-12.

Thursday games include Cocomo’s playing Eli Contracting at 6:15 p.m., Sunset Grill and Sand Bar at 7:30 and Joey’s and DaVinci’s at 8:45.
