After a winter dry spell, there was another big jackpot in Immokalee over the weekend.
At the Seminole Casino Immokalee on Saturday, a Miami woman won $1.1 million playing a Millionaire Sevens Progressive Slot machine.
It was the third big payout at the casino, said Cathy Baker, spokeswoman for the casino. In August, a man netted $3.5 million playing the Wheel of Fortune Progressive Slot machine. In September a woman won $1 million at a global slot tournament held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which counts as a win at the Immokalee casino because the winner was sent there from the Immokalee casino to compete, Baker said.
Saturday's win was the first of its kind on the Millionaire Sevens game in Immokalee, which Baker said came to the casino about a year ago.
"It's so exciting, people come over and congratulate, everyone is cheering," Baker said of the excitement of a win in the casino. "Generally, it sparks a lot of business."
Not that business needed much help, Baker said. Things have been steady at the Immokalee casino, and the machine that paid out to Saturday's winner has always been a popular one, Baker said.
