Letter to the Editor: Responding to editorial

Upon reading your April 23 rditorial I must respond. What is “the right way” sir? I told Steve Thompson some months ago, in the presence of Lisa Douglas that he was vulnerable for firing if he did not improve his actions, that the “long knives” were watching. I had no animus to him and had stayed clear of Marco politics as best I could as age and medical problems requested I do.

Dr. Recker handled this difficult job of firing Steve cleanly, quickly, inteligently, and professionally. He did not pack the audience as his previous chair did in the E. Glenn Tucker building-naming fiasco.

Did you note that Steve responded to what was occurring with line item prepared rebuttal? Two weeks the three dissenters cried for — to what purpose? To upset this city even more than it has been? To do a Rob Popoff removal of another Glaub citizen via the Police Chief?

After seeing your agreement with Waldack, Gibson and Trotter I decided to also try to do this letter quick and soft because you just don’t get it.

Dr. M.A. Ray Paret
