Collier Sheriff’s Office squad car robbed, 2 handguns stolen

— A Collier County Sheriff’s Office squad car was broken into Tuesday.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Karie Partington said that sometime between 5:30 and 7:15 p.m. someone broke into the vehicle while it was parked at the Greater Naples YMCA, 5450 YMCA Road.

“We are trying to locate some CCSO property that was taken and two hand guns that were in the squad car,” said Partington.

Partington added that several units responded to the scene, but that no additional information on the break in was available.
