Southwest Florida International Airport sees 9% traffic increase in November

FORT MYERS – During November, 652,783 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 9.1 percent compared to November 2009. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 1.2 percent from the same period last year, according to a news release from Lee County Port Authority.

The traffic leader in November was Delta with 128,840 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were AirTran (122,808), JetBlue (86,396), Southwest (70,559) and US Airways (59,235).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 7,157 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), an increase of 2.7 percent compared to November 2009. Page Field General Aviation Airport saw 6,691 movements, a decrease of 3.5 percent from November 2009. In addition, more than 2.7 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in November 2010.
