New auto program offered in Collier

Aims to help students work in auto ...

In a good economy or bad, Jeffrey Painter wants his students to be able to get a job.

“This program is designed to get them ready to hold a job,” said Painter, who is teaching the new Auto Collision Repair and Refinishing Program at Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology.

“There are so many paths you can take from this program area. It doesn’t have to be sanding and fixing a dent,” said Painter.

Students will learn things like how to detail a car, take estimates and paint vehicles. This program began last August and is offered to both high school students and adults.
