It was a party at Citrus Park in Bonita Springs Tuesday morning.
The annual Mardi Gras parade featured more than 550 participants.
“They dream up things that are unbelievable,” said Earl Stevens, an annual participant in the parade. He and his wife, Shirley, have been coming to the parade for 25 years.
“We hope we keep coming to it for another ten years.”
The crowd sat in lawn chairs and golf carts lined up along the sidelines to watch the colorful and festive parade performances.“Dream, Dream, Dream,” was this year’s theme, which inspired floats with counting sheep and pajama partiers.
“Some people will take it very literally, said Barbara Russel, activities director at Citrus Park. “Other people really use their imagination.”
