POLL: American Idol blog: Naples' Paige Miles in Top 24 for Season 9

It’s official: Paige Miles is in the Top 24 for Season 9 of American Idol.

The Community School graduate is one of 12 women to move on in the competition.

There wasn't much fanfare to the announcement; Ellen DeGeneres blurted it out and the 22-year-old covered her face in disbelief.

Simon Cowell did give Miles a vote of confidence.

"You are better than you even know," Cowell said shaking his finger at Miles. "You are a really, really good singer."

Fans of the show don't know that yet because unlike many of the Top 24 contestants Miles was only shown singing during the group competition.

We will have to wait until next Tuesday to hear her. It will be the first live show with the 12 women facing off and the fans voting for their favorites. In the meantime, make sure you vote in the poll.

■ Andrew Garcia – watch for him to put a new spin on every song he sings.

■ Crystal Bowersox – She isn’t your typical American Idol contestant. She even admitted this isn’t her type of singing competition. But I like that she is fresh and not pretentious.
