You’re married. Each of you works separate jobs, and you don’t really get to see much of each other.
Solution? Work together.
That’s been the domestic and business strategy for Alex and Monica Vagner, whose I-Net Cafe at Marco Walk has been in operation for just 10 days.
After making their decision to work together, the former Romanian couple scouted various locations on the Island, eventually settling for a long, rectangular space in Marco Walk next to The Beach House and Chico’s clothing store.
“Nearby, we have the hotels (the Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort and Crystal Shores timeshare resort), and good traffic from stores next to us,” Monica Vagner said.
She said she’d had previous retail experience in her four years so far on Marco, while her husband has restaurant experience, so the coffee and Internet shop was a logical choice.
On offer, of course, are assorted coffees such as cappucino, espresso and regular, all available with flavorings as well.
Eats include pastries, muffins, Danish, doughnuts and bagels, and also desserts such as cheesecake and cannoli.
Computers are available free for 10 minutes with purchases, $2,99 for 15 minutes, $3,99 for 30 minutes and $4.99 for an hour, while wi-fi is free for customers who bring in their own lap tops.
Also on offer at the store are souvenirs, embroidered Polo shirts (by artist and a friend of the Vagner’s, Ligia St. Clair), jewelry and beach items.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Call 970-0250.
