Here is health news from across Southwest Florida:

H1N1 vaccine

The Collier County Health Department will offer the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine to anyone from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Saturday, Monday and Jan. 13 at the former Kmart, 12963 U.S. 41 E., Naples. Insurance companies will be billed but there will not be any out-of-pocket charge.

Support group

The Naples Post-Polio Syndrome Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Physicians Regional Medical Center, 6101 Pine Ridge Road, Naples. Dr. John Wilson, a neurologist, will discuss neurological implications of the polio virus and subsequent post polio syndrome. Information: 353-2410

Health screenings

Free screenings for cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure will be given from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Sam’s Club, 2550 Immokalee Road, Naples. Membership and appointments aren’t necessary.

Health fair

A free community health fair that includes testing for diabetes, memory, bone, vision, posture and blood pressure will be held form 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 12 at Jewish Family Services, Naples Walk, 2500 Vanderbilt Beach Road, second floor above Subway, Naples. Information: 325-4444

Smoking cessation programs

The following free smoking-cessation programs are available:

* Quit Smoking Now will be held for six sessions from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the NCH North Naples Hospital, 11190 Health Park Blvd., Naples and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at 350 Seventh St. N., Naples. Registration and information: 989-9809

* The Florida Department of Health and the American Cancer Society provide Florida residents with a telephone-based counseling program at (877) 822-6669 for five sessions with free self-help materials.

Yoga and stretches

Yoga and relaxing stretch classes will be held for five weeks at 6 p.m. Wednesdays starting Jan. 13 at the Garden of Hope & Courage, NCH Healthcare System, 350 Seventh St. N., Naples. Registration is required. Free, first class; $10, per class or $40, five weeks. Information: 384-9759

Cancer prevention cooking class

The Cancer Project is sponsoring four cooking classes for cancer prevention and survival from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays beginning Jan. 14 at St. William Parish Center, 750 Seagate Drive, Naples. $50. Registration is required. Information: 784-0854 or www.cancerProject.org

Vision and hearing fair

Lighthouse of Collier is sponsoring a vision and hearing fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway, Naples. Information: 465-5104

Bereavement support group

Jewish Family Services will sponsor a bereavement support group for eight weeks beginning Jan. 20 at 2500 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Naples. Information and reservations: 325-4444

Tobacco free

The David Lawrence Center, a mental health and substance abuse treatment facility, will become a tobacco-free campus. Employees, visitors and patients in outpatient treatment programs will not be allowed to smoke on campus.
