Lee County VA Outpatient Clinic groundbreaking on Jan. 14

— The ground breaking of the Lee County VA Outpatient Clinic located at 2489 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, Fl 33909 will be held January 14th at 10 a.m. Congressman Connie Mack will be the keynote speaker and the ceremony will be open to the general public.

The groundbreaking ceremony marks another step forward in the construction of the $131.8 million state-of-the-art medical complex serving veterans in southwest Florida. The new clinic will be a comprehensive outpatient healthcare center with primary and specialty care services along with mental health, diagnostic radiology, and laboratory services. New and/or expanded programs being offered in the region include: audiology, cardiology with cardiac non-invasive diagnostic services, urology, GI, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dermatology, minor surgery, and advanced imaging including CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography and vascular Doppler ultrasound. Once open, the new clinic will replace the existing Fort Myers clinic location on Winkler Extension.

Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) said, “I’m so pleased that the construction of the new VA outpatient clinic in Cape Coral will soon get underway. We never would have made it to this point without the support of the VA, the people of Cape Coral and the Southwest Florida veterans’ community, and I was proud to work with them to obtain the necessary federal funding for this new facility. I look forward to recognizing their efforts at the groundbreaking ceremony and formally kicking off this exciting project.”

The clinic was designed by Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) and will be constructed by Kraft Construction, Inc., based out of Naples, Florida.

Great. Now the Cape Coral PD can sit out in front of the VA and write tickets to veterans all day. More traffic=more money. They must be estatic.
