Pay attention Marcoites! I had the privilege of attending a Candidates Forum at JCMI. Chuck Kiester was the only incumbent to attend (Ted Forcht was represented but unable to attend, as was the case with Joe Batte, one of the announced candidates), along with Larry Magel, an announced candidate. Also in attendance were representatives of MITA.
The questions were spirited and very specific, the candidates and their representatives should be applauded for their efforts. While we might not have as divisive an issue as STRP for the upcoming election, we have a number of charter issues that are going to be decided in a January ballot, as well as a number of concerns about spending and priorities that will be decided by City Council, hence the importance of making an informed decision as to who you want representing you.
MICA is sponsoring another candidate night, 6 p.m., Jan. 7, at The Community Center and I’d urge everyone to attend. It’s time to stop moaning and complaining and to get involved!
