Mancan, a temporary staffing agency, has closed its offices in Naples and Fort Myers.
An area director declined to comment about the closings. Calls to corporate officers in Massillon, Ohio, went unanswered today.
Information on the local offices has been removed from the corporate Web site at mancan.com.
A current list of locations shows there are no more in Florida.
The company still has 17 offices, including corporate administration. Most of the offices are in Ohio. There is one office in Pennsylvania and one in West Virginia.
On the Web site for Florida’s Division of Corporations, a business known as Mancan of Southwest Florida Inc. is still listed as active. The registered agent is Deborah Mason.
It’s not clear how many employees lost their jobs. The closures also affect local businesses that used the company’s services.
