The first week of 2010 is under the bridge and the snowbirds continue to flock to the nest called the Greater Marco Family YMCA. Even though the temperature is colder then normal, it still beats the frigid air of (name your northern state here). The staff and management are glad to see your smiling face as you sign up for a fun-filled season of personal fitness, educational classes and the overall sense of accomplishment you will receive by joining the Greater Marco Family YMCA.
A very popular program returns to the Y during the winter months, and that is Tuesday afternoon BINGO! BINGO is open to the public. Doors open at noon and the games start at 1 p.m. Two BINGO packages are available for purchase; the first is the $22 package, which includes three free bonanzas, and the second is the $14 package, which includes one free bonanza. Coffee, tea and snacks are free. Come one, come all to BINGO!
Did you get a new computer for a Christmas gift? Don’t know how to use it? Come to the Y’s computer classes and learn how to surf the Internet, how to send e-mails and how to type word documents. Classes will be held Jan 12 and 14 for Intro to Computers, Feb. 2 and 4 is Introduction to E-mail and in March it’s Introduction to Word scheduled for Mar. 2 and 4. Two class times are available and each class cost $35 for members and $50 for all others.
You still have time to sign up for YMCA Flag Football & Fitness for ages 4 and 5. The program will be held on Thursday nights from 5:15 to 6 p.m. and cost only $30 for members and $40 for community members.
Make plans to attend Family Fun Day at the new offices of the Naples Daily News. This fun day includes games, food and music. Join us from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food and drink tickets sold in $1 increments.
