Come to Marco Island, it’s a Winter Wonderland! Words I thought I would never utter or write in a sentence. This past week will live on as the week we dug out from the trunk our mittens, scrapers and cranked that furnace up to stay warm. The best thing about living here is that sooner or later it will warm up. It’s still paradise!
The Bryant University swim team from Rhode Island was at the Y this past week. Boy, did they pick the wrong time to swim in the outdoor pool! Still, the 32 members of the team had a great time while they were here, and in addition to swimming, took part in the aerobic classes offered at the Y.
Beginning Spanish for Adults started last week, but you still can register and join the class up to Jan. 19.
Another great program that is available is Girls Volleyball for ages 7-9. 10-11 and middle school grades 6-7-8. Games will be played with the Naples Y and also here at our Y. Come on in and sign up for this great program.
Adult Co Ed Volleyball will begin on Mar. 1. Sign up your team of up to 12 players for only $350. Individual sign-ups are available for only $75. You will be assigned to a team.
The only afternoon BINGO on Marco Island is available to you at the Y. Miss Dottie is your host for these popular games. Doors open at noon, games start at 1 p.m.
Mah-Jongg is very popular here on the island, and you can register for February’s lessons now. Classes are held on Monday afternoon.
Zumba classes are still on the schedule at the Y. Classes are held Monday night at 6 p.m., Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m. and Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Come to this salsa aerobic class and have some fun!
