Part one of a four-part series


To help you successfully kickoff a new year, let’s revisit a topic first covered here five years ago. It always deserves ongoing recognition, repetition and reinforcement, so together, let’s take a journey. A journey of excellence. A journey of results. And, a journey you’re sure to enjoy.

Why? Because it’s a journey, all about you and your life. You’ll soon be able to shape and create your life exactly the way you want it. I may be your guide for this journey, but I’ll have some help, because you’ll also have the chance to learn success strategies from some of the most successful people in the world. Let’s your journey begin!

Success. It seems like it’s an elusive word. We all want it in our personal and professional lives, yet often it seems so tough to obtain. We wonder if there’s an exotic potion to be drunk or a special key to be turned that will open the door to opportunity and success. I assure you, there’s nothing magical or mystical about success, but it does require a focused effort, commitment and most importantly, a plan.

Starting now, you’ll have the tools and strategies to develop the plan that will help turn your dreams and goals, into reality. Get ready – to “grasp it!”

In this special four-part series, you’ll learn a systematic, step-by-step process or system for success and achievement. And it’s based on two simple, yet critical elements: 1. Goals and 2. A plan.

The process of goal setting and planning will help you chart a course for a lifetime of success. You’ll begin to control and influence your destiny. External forces might bring influences or challenges, but they’ll no longer be dominant or even distractive forces, because now, you’re in charge of your goals, your plan and your future.

To help you realize your goals, I developed the GRASP IT™ goal achievement system. It was designed for one reason and one reason only, to help you get results! You’ll no longer simply reach for a goal, instead, you’ll now be able to reach for it and “grasp it!”

Have you ever wondered why one person, team or company achieves incredible results, yet others, despite talent and desire, seemingly fall short? They seldom, if ever, reach that next level of success. Their significant leap or quantum jump is never made.

But how come? Often, it’s because these people simply don’t have a plan. It’s been said before, but it’s worth repeating, “Most people don’t plan to fail, but they do fail to plan.” With the GRASP IT system, you’ll now have an easy way to create the plan. A plan for prosperity. A plan for improved performance, productivity and profitability. The GRASP IT system will also give you hope, optimism and results. And success. Success that will come from your plan and your goals.

Goals – your path to glory!

According to Webster, a goal is the point set at the end of a race, an end toward which people direct their energy, an aim or direction, or even the act of scoring points. While all of these definitions are accurate, they don’t begin to reveal the real value and impact that goals can have on your life at both a personal and professional level. Goals, and especially the act of goal-setting, can catapult you to new levels of success. Successful goal setting is simply the progressive movement toward, and eventual realization of a worthwhile idea.

When goal setting is combined with execution, the results can be dramatic. Goals become more than a blueprint for success. Instead, they help turn fantasy into fact and dreams into reality. The reason people with goals succeed, is because they know where they’re going. Today’s business pro must be a focused, strategic thinker. They must listen well, trust their gut instincts, have a thirst for new knowledge and be goal oriented.

That’s why I created the GRASP IT™ goal achievement system. It’s a logical, organized and methodical approach to explosive growth for all aspects of your life. It’s simple, yet practical and results oriented. And it’s based upon seven specific strategies. They are:

1. Specify your GOAL.

2. Target a date for the goal’s REALIZATION and identify how you’ll REWARD yourself, when the goal is realized.

5. PROGRAM your belief system.

6. IDENTIFY obstacles and solutions.

7. TRACK your progress.
