Canadian rapper, actor, writer, media personality and comedian Tom Green will be soon be making the trek to Southwest Florida for a series of appearances at Capt. Brien’s “Off the Hook “Comedy Club starting on Thursday and running through Sunday.
Green was born in Pembroke, Ontario and attended Algonquin College. While in school, Green hosted a over night call in radio show with partner Glen Humplik. He took the “make fun of the caller” format to cable access in Ottawa, later to the Comedy Network and eventually to MTV networks as “The Tom Greene Show.”
The show had live guests, music segments and prank videos pulled on unsuspecting guests that included Tom’s parents. The show gave Greene a national audience which led to other pursuits such as acting. Greene has appeared in “Road Trip”, “Charlie’s Angels”, Freddy Got Fingered” and “Stealing Harvard.” He was a recurring contributor to “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno and appeared in the TV movie called “Bob the Butler.”
Green says he can’t wait to get to Marco Island. He says he has heard many positive comments about the area and “Off the Hook” Comedy Club. He says his show is “frenzied with lots of audience interaction.” Greene also stated his audience is guaranteed to have a good time and enjoy a fun show.
