The Florida Highway Patrol released the name of a man who died in a fiery accident on the westbound lanes of Alligator Alley at mile-marker 62.

Jeffrey A. Stinemire, 51, of Pembroke Pines, was pronounced dead on the scene after his tractor trailer collided with another tractor trailer driven by Roidel Castillo-Castellanos, 33, of Miami.

The accident occurred just after 5 a.m.

Stinemire was westbound on I-75 in the outside lane and attempting to pass Castillo-Castellanos, who was also traveling west in the outside lane. Stinemire struck the rear of Castillo-Castellanos' tractor trailer and both vehicles skidded to a stop. A fire started and completely consumed the tractor portion of Stinemire's vehicle.

Castillo-Castellanos received minor injuries.

Traffic was being redirected through the rest stop at the location.
