Bayshore's music scene is reprised with the new Bayshore Landing

A new owner has stepped in to launch a cafe and music venue at the former Bayshore Coffee House that closed in November after more than three years.

Bayshore Landing, owned by Robyn Schoessel, will open Feb. 5 at 2727 Bayshore Drive Unit 108.

Schoessel is a musician and songwriter who used to perform at Bayshore Coffee and hopes to bring in new traditions, such as a writers night for all ages on Thursdays, when no alcohol will be served. She’ll also serve up some of the classics such as Wednesday open mic nights.

"My vision for this place is really the music," Schoessel said.

There will also be a full cafe menu with daily specials.

The hours have not been set, but the spot will be closed Sundays.

Opening night will feature an acoustic music jam session starting at 7 p.m. featuring Frontline Bluegrass and The Wholetones. Cover is $5.

It will be followed on Feb. 6 with a two-hour workshop hosted by bluegrass musicians Clay Hess, Ronnie Stewart and Jarrod Walker starting at 2 p.m.
