A "send-off party" for local Irish band West of Galway is being held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday at Fitzgerald’s Irish Pub, 9070 Bonita Beach Road.
The Naples-based band is heading to Ireland on July 13 for a gig at the international Celtic Fusion festival
In April, West of Galway was the top vote-getter in an online battle of the bands contest sponsored by the Strangford Lough Brewing Co. in Northern Ireland. The prize was a trip to Ireland and a gig at the festival.
Guitar player and vocalist, Bernie Green, said people who stop by the send-off party can expect an upbeat atmosphere and "good craic."
