NAPLES — According to Collier County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Michelle Batten, the investigation into Wednesday night's fatal shooting has concluded that the gunshot wound was most likely self-inflicted.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after receiving a report of a possible shooting in Lely.
A call came in to the Sheriff's Office dispatch at 8:28 p.m. about a male who was possibly shot at 7905 Mahogany Run in the Lely area, just west of Collier Boulevard, said spokeswoman Michelle Batten.
"All I can tell you is we are conducting a death investigation," said Batten.
The incident occurred in Apartment 1426 of the Greenlinks Golf Resort, a well manicured community.
Two crime scene vans and a patrol car were parked outside the second story apartment as deputies investigated well into the evening.
