NAPLES — An FGCU professor walked up to a waterfront bar Monday morning, greeted people nearby and then pulled out a gun and shot himself in the head.
The medical examiner's office ruled the death 'suicide' after an autopsy concluded Jeff Jinian shot himself in the mouth at Shane's Cabana Bar.
A 9-1-1 call came in just before 9 a.m. from the bar, located in an outdoor area at 492 Bayfront Place, according to the report from the Naples Police Department.
Officers found Jinian lying on the ground, gun at his feet, with the holster sitting on the bar.
