About 2,000 Lee County Electric Cooperative customers were without power on Marco late this morning. Power was restored in less than one hour.
LCEC spokeswoman Karen Ryan said the electric service went out for many Marco Island customers at about 10:30 a.m. and the power was restored within about 40 minutes.
The outage was weather-related following rain storms in the area this morning.
"We've been getting a lot of calls from residents and council members thanking us for our quick response today," Ryan said.

It is certainly nice that power was restored, particularly since I did lose power. However, I'm not sure it is something to brag about. Why did we lose power in the first place? Seems everytime it rains my power goes out. Perhaps, THAT should be addressed!
