EAST NAPLES — A bomb threat made against an East Naples restaurant landed a homeless man in jail Monday, said Collier County officials.
Randy Leon Sulwikowski, 45, who was listed as homeless, was arrested near the intersection of Lakewood Boulevard and U.S. 41 early Monday morning. He was charged with falsely reporting the planting of a bomb explosive/ weapon of mass destruction and resisting arrest without violence.
Sheriff’s reports said that at around midnight, deputies responded to a call from Castaways Backwater Café, 2025 Davis Boulevard, in reference to someone making a bomb threat against the restaurant.
Through the cell-phone provider deputies learned Sulwikowski had made the call, reports said.
Deputies spotted him near the intersection of Lakewood Boulevard and U.S. 41, and took him into custody.
According to the report, a search of Sulwikowski turned up a red cellular phone -- used to make the bomb threat -- and a 10-inch knife.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Sulwikowski remained in jail.
