MARCO ISLAND — What's happening in YOUR neighborhood? Starting at 5:30 p.m., that's the question staff members will be asking attendees during Thursday night's "Coffee & Community" event at Marco I-Net Cafe at 599 S. Collier Blvd. #315 in the Marco Walk shopping plaza, near the Marco Movies, Captain Brien's Comedy Club and Cathy O'Clarke's Irish Pub on Marco Island.

The informal meet-and-greet, the eighth in a monthly series - but the first held on Marco Island - aims to introduce readers and non-readers alike to the multiple ways they can connect, interact and engage with the journalists and content of the Marco Eagle and marconews.com.

"Coffee & Community" participants will find free coffee, snacks and the chance to meet Marco Eagle and marconews.com journalists as well as staff members from the Naples Daily News. There is no formal program planned for the event. "Coffee & Community" is a chance for members of the public to get face-to-face with staff members, learn how they can contribute to the Marco Eagle and the Community section of the Naples Daily News and learn how they can get their photos, news releases and stories into the pages of the Marco Eagle and onto marconews.com.

The event runs from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at Marco I-Net Cafe, located at 599 S. Collier Blvd. #315, the Marco Walk shopping plaza. Find a map at marcoinetcafe.com. Bring your mobile phones and plenty of questions!
