Lee County deputies are searching for a man who robbed a Bank of America in South Fort Myers on Tuesday morning.

No one was injured in the event, and a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office didn't know if the man was armed. Witnesses told detectives the man walked into the bank, at 13099 S. Cleveland Ave., and demanded money from a teller. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene in a light blue, older model Jeep Cherokee.

Dispatchers received the call at 10:44 a.m.

Deputies later found the vehicle in Pine Manor, where they continue to search for the suspect.

The man is described as a white male in his 20's or 30's, around 5-foot, 5-inches in height, with a slim build. He wore a baseball cap, a blue and white striped shirt and blue jeans.
