— A young, talented Naples musician died Monday when his Toyota Scion missed a turn, struck the median and then rammed a palm tree, authorities said.

Edouard C. “Eddie” Noriot, 26, died in the single-car accident on Orange Blossom Drive just after 1 a.m. Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Noriot was traveling the wrong way, going east in the westbound lane, on Orange Blossom Drive in his 2005 Scion when he was unable to negotiate a turn near Wellington Drive, the FHP reports.

After Noriot’s vehicle hit the median, it struck a palm tree and he was partially thrown through the sunroof. The Scion landed on its roof as it slid to a stop, troopers said.

Noriot wasn’t wearing a seat belt, the FHP reported.

Results of toxicology tests are pending, reports said.

The 2002 Barron Collier High School graduate co-owned a design business in Naples — Alphamedia Design — and his own music label FOSHO Productions.

The design business was established in June 2004 and the music company was founded in October 2005, according to its Web site.

Noriot’s friends described him as a nice person, who was funny and outgoing.

“He was an amazing person to be around,” said Gelene Cooper, who had been his friend for six years.

George Castillo said Noriot always knew how to make someone smile and was willing to help out a friend in need.

“He was the type of guy who would give you his shirt off his back on a cold day,” said Castillo, 26, a friend since high school.

Many friends were shocked to learn about Noriot’s death.

Castillo said Noriot’s mother lives off of Orange Blossom Drive, so he should have been familiar with that area.

“It just sucks,” Castillo said about his friend dying at a young age.

“My prayers and thoughts go out to his family,” Castillo said.
