Cocomo’s Grill, regular season champs in 2009, got some satisfaction as it downed this year’s champs, Sand Bar/Integrity Insurance, in the league’s tournament championship.

An omen may have been the semifinal game where Sand Bar had to go extra innings to down DaVinci’s, 18-15. Cocomo’s won easily in its semifinal game, sinking Sunset Grille, 18-5.

In the title game, Cocomo’s Brian Day knocked out four hits, including a home run, Kevin Hennings and Wes Alberry had three hits each and Curt Witthoff, Neal Alberry and Rich Bush each added two hits.

Sand Bar’s JP Nachef accounted for three hits, while Matt Filpot and Brad Frazer had two hits each and Jason Berning slammed a home run.

Here are the other games in order of play.

Cocomo’s, 23, Eli Contracting, 11

Cocomo’s Bush and Scott Gibbs ripped five hits each, while Sean Shea and Mike Watkins added three hits each, including a Shea home run, and Day, Hennings, Witthoff and Dave Rice had two hits each.

Eli’s was led by Chris Nygard with three hits and Christian Polanco and Kirk McFee added two hits each.

Sunset Grille, 19, Nacho Mama’s, 12

Sunset’s Patrick Baldwin blasted out five hits, Chad Clawson had four hits, Mark Canady and Rick Hanscom, three hits each, Lee Vanderjagt, Greg Curry and Jeff Madenford two hits each.

Nacho’s Kyle Previtt, Chris Broxson and Kevin Sullivan slapped out three hits each, while Jim Bonfitto hammered a home run.

DaVinci’s, 10, Joey’s Pizza, 6

DaVinci’s Damien Shadrick slapped out three hits, while Mike Radlovacki, Mark Feola Jr., Bobby Natale Jr., Mike Graczyk and Taylor Goldsmith collected two hits each.

Joey’s, who won the playoffs a year ago, was led by Mike Buis with three hits and Santo Gentile and Brian Trtan with two hits each.

As league champs, Sand Bar received a bye into the semifinal round.

Cocomo’s Grill, 18, Sunset Grille, 5

Cocomo’s Rich Bush, Niels Stone and Neal Alberry slapped out three hits each and Wes Alberry two.

Kevan Kirby led Sunset with two hits.

Sand Bar, 18, DaVinci’s, 15

Sand Bar’s Justin Hanna, Filpot, Frazer and Nachef banged out four hits each, Berning added three hits and Eric Nagel and Pat McGuire had two hits each.

DaVinci’s Natale Jr. and Graczyk knocked out recorded hits each.

The final season standings

Sand Bar/Integrity Insurance, 17-1, Cocomo’s, 14-4, Joey’s Pizza and Sunset Grille, 10-8, Nacho Mama’s, 6-12, DaVinci’s, 5-13 and Eli Contracting, 2-16.
