Fire investigation on Center Street

4 Center St.

NAPLES — An early morning fire ripped through the home of a vacant North Naples house Thursday.

North Naples Fire Control and Rescue District firefighters responded at 1:04 a.m. to a fire at 4 Center St., said fire district spokesman Jerry Sanford.

The fire burned through the roof of the one-story house.

Six North Naples units and 25 firefighters were on the scene and had the fire under control at 2:06 a.m., Sanford said.

He estimated the house was probably a total loss and also said the house, east of U.S. 41 and north of Pine Ridge Road, had a for sale sign in the front yard. There was no furniture inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
