U.S. 41 South and Cypress Lake Drive
A man was kicked in the groin after another man got out of his truck holding a beer, claiming he was cut-off in traffic.
Anthony Pizzi, 47, told Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies he was headed north on U.S. 41 South, but was waiting in the turn lane to go onto Cypress Lake Drive. While waiting for the light to cycle, a man who appeared to be intoxicated got out of his truck and walked up to Pizzi’s driver’s side window. He punched it several times causing it to cut his hands, reports said. He claimed he was cut off in traffic.
The man walked back to the truck and Pizzi confronted the male and attempted to photograph him and his tag number. The suspect walked to the back of the truck and bent the tag in an attempt to cover the numbers, according to the report.
Pizzi blocked a punch the man tried to throw but was kicked in the groin. The man got back in his truck and turned onto Cypress Lake Drive. Pizzi gave deputies a partial tag number. His girlfriend and son witnessed the altercation.
