— The Barron Collier High School Cougar Band will offer its annual Christmas gift to the community at 7 p.m. Thursday with a free concert of holiday music at the Cambier Park band shell, 698 Sixth Ave. S.

About 205 student musicians and auxiliary members will take part in the concert, which is led by Director of Bands Benny Bolden Jr.

The holiday performance will feature the marching band, drum line, McClintock's Own bagpipe band and the jazz band. Admission is free for all who bring canned goods to be donated to a local charity. Donations are also encouraged, with a "Pass the Helmet" to benefit the Barron Collier band program. Baked goods, hot chocolate and other refreshments will be sold by members of the band's parent booster organization.

Audience members should bring their own lawn chairs and blankets, as no seating is provided at the park.
