NAPLES — Collier County deputies charged an Ave Maria assistant coach with indecent exposure in public after witnesses said he was masturbating in a North Naples parking lot, according to a report.
Marlon Pascual, 23, of Hialeah, who listed no local address, was arrested on Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of Tarpon Springs Plaza, 2415 Tarpon Bay Blvd., off Immokalee Road east of Interstate 75. A female customer and a security guard told deputies they witnessed Pascual masturbating as he watched customers entering and exiting one of the stores.
Pascual works part-time as a baseball outfield coach for Ave Maria University. As of Friday afternoon, his name had been removed from the university’s website.
In a written statement from Ave Maria University, school officials said they were aware of Pascual’s arrest and have placed him on a leave of absence until the matter is resolved.
The statement also said Ave Maria University has a policy to “await the outcome of the legal process prior to taking any definitive action.”
University officials declined to comment further on the situation.
A female customer said she parked her car and, as she was walking into the store, noticed a man in a silver vehicle looking at her, according to the Sheriff’s Office report.
The woman said she got a clear view of Pascual’s genitalia, and noticed that he was looking at her and masturbating, reports said. She also said she saw Pascual staring at other customers in the parking lot, according to the report.
The woman informed a security officer at the store, who pointed a security camera at Pascual’s vehicle. The guard walked past Pascual’s vehicle and observed Pascual with his pants down as he looked toward a store’s entrance, according to the report.
A responding officer pulled behind Pascual’s vehicle and activated emergency lights.
When the officer approached, Pascual grabbed a cell phone that was sitting on a seat next to him and appeared nervous with his hands shaking, according to the report.
Pascual was arrested on probable cause.

Marlon is a caring person he is kind comes from a loving family that will help him thru this, he is honest and has always been an excellent role model, athlete, son, grandson and brother. He has always been in the straight and narrow, with the love of his family and friends he will get thru this, don't convict him with only hearing one side of the story and without giving him the chance to defend himself.
