MARCO ISLAND — Marco residents and Christmas Island Style fans came out on Sunday to Erin’s Isle for a Jazz Jam Session to raise money for the annual Marco Island tradition.
A variety of hors d’ouevres and jazz and blues music were served up for attendees, with 100 percent of the proceeds raised from the event supporting Christmas Island Style.
From the Annual Street Parade along San Marco Road to the Marco Island Boat Parade, Christmas Island Style puts on 17 different events throughout the season and aims to bring the spirit of Christmas to Marco Island each year.
Every seat was full as people mingled, ordered Guiness and listened to Bobby Gideons & Friends. Many of those in attendance were Erin’s Isle regular customers, noted restaurant waitresses Rose Spinale.
“Most people here having been coming to (Erine’s Isle) for 25 years,” Spinale said. “They’re like family here.”
For Joan and Dennis Pidherny, both Marco residents, the Jazz Jam Session brought back memories from their recent trip to Ireland.
“We love (the session),” Joan said. “This is our second time attending and it’s for a great cause.”
Christmas Island Style is hosting events from now until January 10. Info: www.christmasislandstyle.com.
