Driver causes $5K in damage by doing 'doughnuts' on Stoneybrook Golf Course

The doughnuts on Green No. 15 at Stoneybrook Golf Course in Estero have appeared again.

For the fourth time since July 26, someone drove onto the green, spun in circles and caused an estimated $5,500 in damage. The crime occurred between 2 and 7:26 a.m. Thursday at the golf course, 21253 Stoneybrook Golf Blvd., according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Previous reports show the first two times – July 26 and Aug. 13-14 -- someone did “doughnuts” on the green, an estimated $2,000 in damage occurred each time.

On Aug. 25, damage to the fairway on No. 15 was estimated at $10,001.

In at least one previous instance a vehicle was seen and the license plate is registered to a person who lives in a nearby community.
