The construction of the new Lowe’s of South Naples is on target and the store will open before the end of the year.

Located at the southwest corner of Collier Boulevard and U.S. 41 East in the Shops at Eagle Creek plaza, it is anticipated that the store will provide 175 jobs, according to Maureen Rich of Lowe’s.

The company is accepting applications online at lowes.com/careers, where individuals can view the available positions.

The new Lowe’s of South Naples will provide 116,000 square feet of retail sales space, which represents an average investment in the community of about $18.5 million, Rich said.

Groundbreaking was held in February and construction has moved along steadily.

County Commissioner Donna Fiala, who oversees where Lowe’s will open, is pleased with the store’s progress.

“I think it is thrilling that the construction has moved along so rapidly,” she said. “I know people from Marco, Naples, all the way to Golden Gate, are excited.”

While Rich could only confirm that the store will be open before the end of the year, Fiala thinks that it will open in December.

“I think they will have employees around the middle of November to begin to get the huge store stocked,” she said.
