SAN CARLOS PARK — Eight vehicles were burglarized early Friday in one San Carlos Park neighborhood.
Five reports were taken by deputies from the owners who all live in the 7300 block of Jonas Drive, said Lee County Sheriff’s Sgt. Stephanie Eller.
One person reported the theft from a vehicle occurred between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., Eller said. Items stolen included electronics, a duffle bag, raincoat and school textbooks.
The reports on the thefts had not been completed Friday afternoon.
Many of the vehicles were left unlocked, Eller said, prompting her to remind people to keep their vehicles locked and to remove any expensive items.
A bag with some of the stolen items, such as knick knacks and a college textbook was found at the end of the road in a ditch, as was a Lee County Sheriff’s Office arm patch and brochures with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on it.
