Easter at Max HasseA service offered to a "full house" under the pavilion at Max Hasse Community Park marked the 11th year of the tradition. Powerful speaker Pastor Jonathan Loerop held the crowd's attention, interspersed with musical performances for the hour long service. At the conclusion he reminded everyone of the following Easter egg hunt for the kids and emphasised the connection between new life and the meaning of Easter. Next everyone numbering in the hundreds enjoyed a buffet style sit down breakfast replete with both hot food and delicious baked goods.SEE THE PHOTOS

Easter Cruise :: In honor of Easter, the Capt. Gene Becker took passengers on a special Saturday afternoon Easter Cruise aboard The Fort Myers Princess. Becker said that Easter was a time to be spent with family, especially his own, and that is why he took the ship out; off their regular schedule of Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Eighty passengers got a special Saturday trip on the boat to get a look at the Gulf and surrounding areas of interest. The trip culminated with a beautiful sunset. SEE THE PHOTOS

Bunnymania 2011: The Final Hop :: Like the thousands of bunny eggs that miraculously appeared throughout the park, thousands of kids who were dressed in flowery colors rolled, danced and jumped around on the grass at Fleishmann Park. It was the final Bunnymania. Some 20,500 plastic eggs filled with treats decorated the field - just waiting for hundreds of kids to scoop them up. As soon as the eggs were down, they were snatched back up by running, screaming and laughing children. There were also games and other attractions for families and children of all ages. Booths were set up for caricatures, balloon art, face painting, a magic show, as well as food and other activities. Royal Scoop Easter Egg Hunt 2011 :: On Saturday, April 23rd hundreds of participants were able to hunt over 20, 5000 candy filled Easter eggs. David and Sarah Zimmerman, the owners of Royal Scoop Ice Cream, helped to host the event at First Baptist Church on Vanderbilt Drive south of Bonita Beach Road for its 17th year in a row. Breakfast with the Bunny at Miromar 2011 :: There were bunnies, eggs and treats galore at "Breakfast with the Bunny" at Miromar Outlets Saturday. Khloe Williams, 1, of Estero visited with her grandmother Lorrie Christopoulos of Bonita Springs. Khloe loved the brightly colored pinwheels given out at the event. Naples Botanical Garden Easter Egg Hunt 2011 :: A gorgeous Saturday morning opened over the Naples Botanical Garden with picture-perfect blue skies, bursts of floral color everywhere, an Easter Bunny, tons of eggs and 400 kids with their families. That was a snap shot of today's Easter egg hunt set in the Garden. By 9 a.m., there was an anxious line of kids and their families in line for the big event. As soon the doors were opened, the Easter Bunny greeted the crowd and the first of four sequential hunts began. The action was frenetic but orderly as kids scrambled to successfully fill their baskets with candy filled eggs. Estero United Methodist Church Easter Egg Hunt 2011 :: The annual Easter egg hunt at Estero United Methodist Church on Saturday morning featured a staggering 14,000 Easter eggs were filled with candy and hidden for the taking. Children made a run for the brightly colored spheres - and were soon tearing into Tootsie Rolls and other treats. Hamburgers and hot dogs were also on the grill. The church will hold four events on Easter Sunday, a sunrise service at 7:30 a.m., an 8:30 a.m. breakfast, a 9:15 a.m. contemporary praise service and an 11 a.m. traditional service. Calusa Nature Center Eggcellent Easter Eggstravaganza 2011 :: Families hopped on over to the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium, Saturday, April 23, 2011 for the 6th Annual Easter “Egg-cellent Eggstravaganza”. Children scurried through the forest during the Easter egg hunt in search of prize-filled eggs. Immokalee Sports Complex Easter Egg Hunt 2011 :: The kids came with a hop, a skip and a scamper for the annual Immokalee Easter Egg Hunt, held at the Immokalee Sports Complex on Escambia Street in Immokalee on Saturday. The event is sponsored by the Collier County Parks and Recreation Department of the county. This years event hosted an estimated six to seven hundred kids. The Easter egg hunt was for plastic eggs with toys and special prizes for the children. Naples Zoo Easter Celebration 2011 :: The Easter Bunny gave a thumbs up to visitors at the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens on Friday morning as the zoo kicked off three days of festivities. The zoo plans to let visitors watch animals hunt for "Easter Eggs" - papier maché eggs filled with treats - all through Easter weekend. Spring Festival at East Naples Community Park :: The Easter bunny hopped on over to East Naples a few weeks early. Along the way, he dropped off hundreds of brightly colored eggs on the sports fields at East Naples Community Park. The pastel shells gleamed in the early morning sun.
